RE: A Prism to the Sun (An Original Poem)

in #poetry3 days ago

Your poem reminded me that when I was a child, my grandmother used to tell me to stop looking so much to the sky, upwards, and to look down and put my feet on the ground. Human beings move because they aspire to move forward, to reach, to climb, because there is a sky and a horizon, but above all because there are dreams and desires. Sometimes desires upset us, degrade us, hurt us with their “sharp edges”. But there is also a certain joy in desiring, from there perhaps, the desire to keep the desire unsatisfied, to keep it latent. A nice Thursday, Eric. A strong embrace

You're right. Desire or "the want" is what keeps us exploring, perfecting, and evolving so it's not all bad. Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week, Nancy.
