A poem dedicated to my Granny who sadly passed away less than 4 weeks ago. My second mother, my friend, my heart. I miss her tremendously.🌻🕊
Cuddles in the Sky
That day when you left me
I knew it was time.
I felt different, I didn’t know why.
The news broke that you were gone.
In my heart I felt a shudder,
All my tears flowed.
You were around for me to see
That shining light,
Burning so brightly.
I felt your touch.
It was going to be alright.
Beside me, you held me tight.
The cuddles, I remember
Sat on your knee.
Taught me to read and write…ABC.
Those journeys we had
The arcades and rides.
Always made sure I left with the prize.
So glamorous, so caring
Gin never far away.
My expensive tastes, you showed me the way.
Christmas was magical,
Decorations and tree.
We were together, couldn’t wait to see.
This year is different
Without you here.
I miss you so much, Granny dear!
Raise a glass, it may not be gin.
Champagne for me,
You know it’s a win!
So here I am, just a quick hi.
Always in my thoughts.
Cuddles in the sky.

So sorry about your loss. I know how that feels. Lost my uncle yesterday too and i went blank. I dedicated a piece to him too yesterday. Stay strong, take heart. You are never alone.
I just wrote a poem about someone I lost. You can really get into it because you are so filled with emotion.

So sorry for your loss. Writing is a way to express yourself and you did it well.

Love the poem; and I feel your pain! My grandma was amazing and even though she passed away over 10 years ago, I still miss her dearly. My memories of her make me smile now though; there is still a void, but I'm able to remember her and feel fortunate for all the wonderful memories I have of her and I. Time does not necessarily heal, but it dulls the pain for sure!
