Love the humour in a quite serious poem. You are right in saying that this is an international problem. I am unsure of what the laws are here, but, as far as I know/remember, you would need to not have sex with another man for a year. It is obviously better than a lifetime ban, but still, it is problematic. I know others have labelled it as an LGBT+ issue, but it is not the community that suffers the consequences. Anyone needing blood will suffer if there is a shortage. It is a medical and social problem, and the longer it will take to fix, the more lives are being put in danger.
It is a huge problem still in many countries. I think it's one that's often charged by superstition and misunderstanding.
