Ignite your world

They say stars are meant to shine,
Because their heavenly light is divine.
Their beauty is in their radiance.
Their power, in their variance.

This is the story of an alluring candle
Who was afraid to be kindled.
Scared to stand proud and give light to another.
Petrified to bleed till it's over.

So, it hid it's long and beautiful wick.
To others who didn't, it called them sick.
By and by, it watched them go,
With fiery passion to hold up and glow.

Until the very last one had been chosen
And it was left with a clouded mind, bare and open.
Why was it condemned to give it's light,
To one who only wanted to get through the night?

Finally, it was taken out of the cold and empty drawer.
What had been it's comfort zone forever.
But was met with a different picture.
The throne set for it was beautiful beyond measure.

But right past the candle stand he was trod.
Even despite it's protest and the answers he sought.
The garbage can accepted him in eagerness.
And all that was left was hope.

As it lay old and waste,
It wondered and pondered in distaste.
What if it had accepted it's fate?
It'll never get a chance it's world to illuminate.

We are the flavour of the earth.
Sometimes we're eager sometimes, aghast.
But don't you ever hide your flame.
Ignite your world, proclaim His name.
