Blue Skies and ravens
Been a busy girl tapping into the poetry community on Bluesky. Research tells me that it is decentralized, but privately owned, not sure how that works. My understanding, and feel free to expand on this, is that there is no algorithm controlling what you see. As far as I can tell, this is the case. Those that I follow are in my feed in reverse chronological order, same when you make a search. The searches I have made are poetry and haiku. There are a lot of poets on the platform and a lot of poetry readers.

Just a small caveat: I am keeping my Bluesky feed exclusively for poetry and writing, no politics. I am on politics hiatus; who knows for how long.

Okay, I promised some poetry and spoken word. I made this recording originally many moon ago. Recently I gave it a sound make over, as best as I could, and moved it over to Rumble.

Okay ... I won't upvote the next one. I mean we are talking about 30 cents. I am not likely to notice the difference. Also ... please note, I have not taken a penny from the blockchain and invested thousands of dollars and probably thousands of hours. Promoted the blockchain and brought people over. When I was a smaller account and lucky to make of few dollars on my posts ... it felt emotionally good to upvote my own work ... and given the vote amount, didn't hurt anyone. I mean really ... 30 to 50 cents ... why do we care about this? I am surprised you noticed me.
I'm trying to keep you out of trouble, I think you are alright. There's people on here that would downvote you for comment self-voting. It's not a done thing and is frowned upon.
That's great, so you are like me. I invested in this too, but please don't do this.., it will net you less, believe me. People see it and won't support you.
Thank you. I appreciate it. I do. From my point of view, things changed. It used to be acceptable to upvote yourself, say once a day, because it was seen as promotion .. and you had to vest enough HIVE to do so. The higher the upvote value, the more people saw the work. I did also see people who only upvoted themselves and then took a lot of money off the blockchain. That was never me. So that is why I have upvoted my work and felt it was okay to do so. I saw my approach as balanced. But thank you for the heads up.

You know I appreciate your point. But we are also decentralized and people should be allowed within reason ... to do what they want with their HP that they have worked hard and invested both time and money to get. Mind you as a community we could decide through a vote ... to simply not allow self-upvotes; but then those with multiple accounts .. create curation accounts and self-upvote that way ... way more than 30 cents. But like I said ... 30 cents one way or the other is not worth fighting over. I cry UNCLE. I won't upvote my own work. I hope though you might also consider my point of view and not scare off small accounts who do upvote their own work.
Just comments, posts are a different matter though I don't vote my own. I could vote this comment which takes seconds to compose and award myself over $2. Does that sound OK to you?
Anyone decent ends up on my BOT (or followed) and get's votes though trust. There is no need for fear unless you are being an arse (yes I'm British). 😀

That's a great idea. It will get you more comments, some of them intended for the sake of your vote stake only. It's not difficult to fathom the pretenders from the genuine folks.
My first time hearing of Bluesky. Thanks for writing about it, I'll definitely check it out later. Though I wonder if it offers some things that hive doesn't. Have a good day.
Hive is wonderful but we are small and insulated at times. Joining Bluesky does not mean giving up Hive; rather by posting links to Hive on Blueky, we advertise the blockchain.
