Creation's Memory
mad-science
insistence
has swept
the nations
defeat nature
colonize her
coerce her
into
submission
control the flow
of information
oppress Gaia
assimilate
her diversity
rip up her bounty
by the roots
get ahead
of disease
arm the cell with spikes
give yourself something to battle
even if it is your own porous shadow
corrupt
with poison
profit and perversion
fight the Darwinian legions
modified antediluvian eternals
with cytotoxin syringes
muted heavy metals
drown out
amassing whispers
fence the forest
where Ivy grows
among the mycelium
deep and everywhere
she cools the blood
balances the biome
she does not favor the full
she does not demand tithe
or youth sacrifice
Ivy breaks rock to soil
dissolves facade to plenty
serves change and evolution
consumes decay and fear
grants renewal
when Ivy is free
science married
with nature
Shelley's monster will rest
entombed and soothed
encapsulated and healed
deep in the permafrost
of creation's memory

I've missed your poetry. And good poetry is often not "feel good love" poetry but a good slap in the face to wake up.
Thank you.
Thank you, Victor. We may be entering a time where esoteric poetry will be the only form of dissent.
Fingers crossed; more people wake up:)
Thank you for your heartening words:)
Art has always been a form of political dissent, either through the nature of the art itself (such as changing styles to be 'offensive') or just through the art itself (such as ballet in Stalinist Russia). I like it. :)
Yeah ... we follow in the footstep of giants:)
I thoroughly enjoyed this reading. Biology, science, poetry, humanization. Beautiful!
How and how much I would like to write poems like this, but I don't think I can. The pictures, the comparisons! Congratulations.
Thank you @lecumberre. We all write as our psyche calls. Your pen is your own and beautiful in its own right.
Nice nature photography.
Thank you, Kam:)
OK so this starts off super bleak, if I am reading it correctly. The beautiful monster, forgotten and frozen. Will it come again when Nature regains her throne? When we no longer judge value by visage?
Nature has not been deposed.
