He is on the Way
the younger man
exuberant and dismissive
hungry and clutching
determined to succeed
the very first time
to obtain
a certain feeling
through striving
and insisting
believing
his hard work merits
desire-fulfilment
the penetration of skin
not understanding
his force is outmatched
by the force of All
he soon concludes
corruption has infiltrated
gnawed a hole
in the network
there is an unraveling
he accepts, alone
he is powerless
to obtain his goals
resent, resent, resent
he hardens
gives over
not to the system
still here, there is resistance
but he gives over
to chemical stimulants
they give what they promise
even if, the take more
than they give
give, take, give, take
there must be balance
where there is none
there is suffering
he suffers
soon, he is no longer young
the old man softens
returns to where it all began
breathe ... breathe ... breathe
ventilation removes
the venom from the system
the bloodstream is swept clean
ducts and chambers expand
command returned to the nucleus
resistance dissolved
thoughts are clear
he connects with ancient Magi
the network is legitimate again
his youth, reclaimed
along the Way

This reminds me how fleeting time really is. Future is uncertain. But there is hope. 😊
There is always hope and there is something even better in the present. One must still themselves to find it. Thank you, Nairda:)
A wise write on wisdom itself :) I recognise much of myself in the younger man - much of who I used to be, at any rate. Time is always the best teacher.
Thank you, Lazarus:)
breathe ... breathe ... breathe
ventilation eliminates
the poison of the system,
This is the key, dear Pryde.
Thank you, zeleira:)
I like it. Honestly reminds me in a way of Seger's Like a Rock, done beautifully by Jennifer Nettles...she can really belt it after 1:30 in the vid...
That is good. Thank you, Paul:)
"not understanding

Thank you, Daniel:)
I love how your write about life in a poem.
He certainly is on his way 🦋
Thank you, May:)
This is great..... the journey of the youth is well captured, including his doubts of self and society.
Thank you:)
