Spring’s sibilant
green pastiche hums budding life
in the flight of bees.

Trees spark green flutters,
chlorophyll fingers reaching
upwards, sun-kissed.

When the warm storm breaks,
wood pigeon coo, rain sings to
the settling soil.

The ground bursting life,
in dew soaked cessation.
A heavenly gift.

These Haiku were written in response to how spring makes me feel when the buds start to burst and the bees start their busy wanderings. I wrote these Haiku at the allotment today while planting tomatoes in the greenhouse. The picture is from unsplash.com creative commons licence, please follow link below picture to verify. I love this poem, @raj808. Such purpose and awareness of the moment...when we are still - swimming in the miracle of life.

Trees spark green flutters,
chlorophyll fingers reaching
upwards, sun-kissed.

I love this especially. Chlorophyll fingers!

I had to look up one of your words I hadn't heard before "sibilant" - What an interesting and beautiful word.

Thanks @youhavewings. Ha ha, 'sibilant' is a word that is all over my poetry lol. Maybe too much if I'm honest but it is a beautiful word and very onomatopoeic. I'm gratified that you picked out the use of 'chlorophyll fingers' as I was unsure if it worked as I put something scientific in to try and sharply contrast against the rest of the imagery which is very natural, I wasn't sure if it worked as I intended. Glad you enjoyed these Haiku :-)

It really is a fabulous word....sibilant.....sssss Going to sneak it into conversation with my 15 yro that thinks he knows every word ever created ;) We both love playing with words, so it will be fun.

onomatopoeic - nice! :)

Yes, 'chlorophyll fingers' created a nice, interesting visual.

This is really beautiful! It definitely vibes with the way I've been feeling in the garden this week :)

Thanks @sagescrub, yeah it was exactly how I was feeling down the allotment and then walking home through the park afterward. The blossom is on the trees and the birds were going mad with their song as a warm storm was just about to break then the heavens opened just before I got home. I came in and wrote this in a kind of daze. Couple of edits and it was good to go. I'm glad it resonated with you :-) Thanks for checking out my blog

Your words capture the moment so well. I don't know how but I feel calmed after reading this.

That's great @ronyxoxo, that it had a soothing effect. It's how I felt after coming back from working outside at the allotment, calm and tranquil. I'm glad it resonated with you :-) Thanks for checking out my blog
