This poem was penned by my 15 year old self while travelling on a train. The boy was travelling away from his near and dear relatives to pursue his mundane school life in another city. The outflow of emotions happen thus:
.
O Moon, you stay with me,
I’ve left afar my people, land,
I’ve left the warmth of love unmet,
As you had vowed to stay with me.
.
.
.
So far have gone the laughing leaves,
The trees have gone, just wind remains,
The train is running mindlessly,
Come see the changing views with me.
.
.
.
Gone are the days of memories rich,
Gone is the time which ought to stay,
To loneliness I march about,
Enjoy the solitude with me.
.
.
.
Don’t hide behind the hills,
Don’t hide beneath the horizon!
Don’t go before you colour me grey,
My carriage’s not good friends with me.
.
.
.
Come along, the waters shine,
The steely tracks have turned light white,
O why you crave the glow of stars? ‘Twill fade.
I see myself in you with me.
