And my mind in great despair
When it feels like no tomorrow
And there's no more joy to spare
If no one would dare to listen
When people focus on what they earn
And seek for their own enjoyment
For my soul is easily deceived by its cliche
But it just made the darkness darker
And left me to decay
When it wells up from a sorrowful heart
No worldview can cheer up a creature
When he seeks the truth that exceeds the smart
Just running down my tears
Asking myself life's questions
But in a moment He hears
He answers my questions
And He stands as the way
Out of this world's chaos and tensions
Oh most gracious Lord
My soul testifies the correspondence
And coherence of Your word
The very day the Spirit brought the truth
Will always lead me to Your hand
And keeps me stand up on my foot
Just as it has done to You before
But I will take Your promise when You said
'Take heart! I have overcome the world.'

I indulge myself in transient things
For my soul is easily deceived by its cliche
But it just made the darkness darker
