ADAM
I lost a rib,
My jewel of an inestimable value
Precious onyx and sapphire
I girded my loin for a search
Deep in the dark I was lost:
In search of my circlet and pearl
I searched all through the winter snow
I couldn't find my lily in the veld
Here comes the Autumn colour,
And yet I've found no luck
Loneliness covered my instinct
My rooms are now smaller
No one to season my pot
All called me bachelor
Soon I became dizzy
I freeze(d) into deep sleep all thru summer
I was awoken by the the pounding of the rain
And I lay my heart flat on the flood
My bones received life and my flesh began to sprout
I soon regained my washed strength
And I began to search my rib
I met Solomon, and he sought for a beast
My rib was too precious, so I've to kill
Deep in the forest, I trail a beast
Rain or shine I sail the deep
Day and night I wrestled with monsters
At noon I fought goblins and manticores
No peace, no rest, no joy, no rib...
At the verge of death I lay
Too weary to continue my search
Then I was struck lightly by a seraph
He held my hand and led me to Rome
Here, I saw ribs: but mine was missing
In my anguish I lay in the tunnel
The sky was dark and lonely
Birds never sang, trees never danced
As I closed my eyes to sleep:
I felt a pure touch,
I sped to open my eyes
Cos the touch was calm
My joint began to crank
The scraps of my broken heart glued in a moment
Joy flowed within and peace I regain
Behold my missing RIB!!
Behold my wife and life
Behold my new mother
I won a trophy,
A gorgeous bird with feathers of many colours
The tallest rose in the garden of my heart
My sky was red with scent of love
It was coloured by the artist of my soul
The one who crossed my heart with rainbows of affection...
I've found my rib, and I've seen my ha
Very well spoken words in this poem.
