Pahlawan adalah
orang-orang yang rela kugigit
demi meredam nyeri setiap bulan.
Juga mereka yang rela
menggotong saat pandangku kabur
dan terjerembab di sembarang tempat.
Tanpa darah mereka
Merdeka tak pernah ada
Neraka karena terjajah
Kini kita lupa mereka
Pahlawan adalah Bapak
dan Ibu Guru yang berkali-kali
menjemurku di bawah tiang bendera
saat gaduh bersama teman-teman.
Juga Mbah Kiayi yang mencekoki Alif
di telingaku dan aku sibuk tertidur di kelas.
