No Safe Place

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

After the events of 9 August 2014, the world saw a rise in protests. The hashtag "Black Lives Matter" soon became a rallying cry, though it was first popularized in July, 2013.

I wrote and recorded a poem, No Safe Place, which was then published in a collection of art, essays, and poetry, titled "After Ferguson, In Solidarity."

Here is my original video.
