she told me
she wanted to be beautiful
and i had no choice
but to comply
her desire commanded me
to cover the mirrors with cloth
and seal the lips
of those who told lies
my duty bade me
to stroke scarred flesh
that begged for caresses
and soothe the sites
of pinpricks and excisions
that stripped radiance
from her mind
we both tasted
salt on our tongues
as the space between us
diminished with time
there was less of myself
as i vainly replaced
her missing pieces
with those of mine

nice piece. you are healing. but sometimes some people leave indelible marks on you. and we 'vainly replace the pieces with those of ours'
Thank you for reading.
This is heartbreaking and beautiful. It really reminds me of how important it is to protect ourselves when we're healing ❤.
Thanks @rachelhanson10 ❤
