Love’s Last Rites
Fading memories felt as déjà vus
Obscure pictures saved from dust
Blind love so willing to be abused
Sanity silenced in passion’s lust
Addicted to games we can’t stop losing
Trapped in an endless press-rewind
Caught in tales of some far illusion
Broken hearts beating down the mind
Toxic haze of our last struggles
Breaths the air of cherished vice
A velvet coat veiling the lost corps
Of dreams shattered in our rites
Lone tragedy since we parted
Left solo in a gunned roulette
Forever longing broken-hearted
Love is such a fatuous threat.
