Heart less
Beneath the largest moon I've ever seen,
I lay and remember all the places I've been.
Footprints once laid in sand,
Washed away by roaring seas.
The scenes flicker on the canvas of my soul.
The lessons I have learned make me feel old.
Life passes by piercing the canopy of night.
Smokescreen the vessels, oh so tight.
How many times did you lose the fight?
Scared of all the bugs you think bite.
Wind dancing through the trees and plants,
The sun shares its bright light.
Giving life and breath where it's deserved.
It feels so real not to hurt.
The water washed away the dirt.
The moon danced all around the world.
In the mind's eye the children played
Russian roulette while lifting up the skirt.
The veil torn and tattered from the fight,
There is no reconciliation left in sight.
Blinded by our own misfortunes we depart.
What was it like to live without your heart?!?
