HANDS ON DECK
Pleasurable, it may be
To reap what one sows
To be accomplished, to be free
To be void of all woes
To conquer, to mount the throne
Albeit being achieved alone
But soon outlived is such pleasure
Ended is its reign
The birth of loneliness of no measure
As all pleasure morphs into pain
For destruction is the fate of an empire
Which rises and thrives without a sire
A man needs another to survive
To light his dark, guide his way
To regale his mood, jolt him alive
For it takes two to tango, they say
And what is born of this sacred bond
Is none but harmony and accord
The completion of mighty Rome
Wasn’t in a single day
It cost a man his family, his home
It took the wisdom of Pompeii
The grasp of the greater good
Birthed by sacrifice and brotherhood
Organizations and groups
A movement, a musical band
Ant colonies and military troops
A brother, a helping hand
All defying the evils of solitude
Embracing company and gratitude
Let’s prevent the ship from wreck
For the destination is near
Let all hands be on deck
So every man gets his share
