a small introspection about hapiness and time

Something took over, when I read a Mila Kundera quote about time and hapiness:

"Human time does not turn in a circle; it runs ahead in a straight line. That is why man cannot be happy: happiness is the longing for repetition.”
― Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

So I felt something inside of me urging to write about it, lighted my cigarette, sat by the sun and spilled three pages of rambling thoughts in my physical notebook , late refining them in my email's blank sheet. I love to write in portuguese, my mother language, there's something about it that inspires me beyond words. Here's the result:

Translation (approx.):
Time ... if in a circle, like the sun, the mirror of the natural cycle, and in each day, light and darkness, the fear of the human appeased by the measurement of the unknown in seconds minutes hours days months and decades and millennia. Perpetuated and distorted by tradition, pragmatism and social (dis) functionalism, time also advances in a straight line, in a path we only recognize when we look back, the compass of everyday life that keeps us in the path of formality and at the same time frees or distracts us from the infinite of our own existence. Is there happiness in a straight line, or is this straight line contrary to our humanity? Not being eternal, happiness is in the eyes of those who see it and inherent to our capacity to love, stopping time so that all experiences become gifts in the light of consciousness.

Enjoy, like resteem comment if you feel like it, it sure does to me :)

Nice your post

Time itself is an illusion, a thought-made construct. We can think(!) about past and future but when we stop thinking we realize that there is only this moment. What adds on to our illusion of there being a past and future, however, is the fact that we tend to transfer old, outdated thought patterns into the present moment, which shuts close new, more healthy thoughts. Exactly the same old thought pattern we naturally transfer onto our future as well so that we are literally making ourselves dependent on and identify with our thoughts.

These were just my instant thoughts after reading your wonderful notes ;)

Perfect, thank you for sharing your thoughts... when immature resolutions from the past become crystallized standards, the paradigm that rules humanity further on, truncating their ability to face the darkness, the unknown for themselves without the safety net of time.
