You have exactly
as much time as it takes,
and not one minute more.
Isn't that comforting?
You can use it to drill
deep holes. You can go
to the bottom of yourself and see
what's really in the pit of that well.
It may be worth it.
You can use your eyes to bore
into other people, asking for what
cannot be given. Too much time
looking, and you could go blind.
Maybe then you would see yourself
as the well, content in your deep beauty.
Let others come to you when they thirst.
Do not think one way or the other about it.
You have something to give.
The weight of a life can pile high on your back,
making you believe in things like time.
Give of yourself anyway.
Think not one way or the other
about it.
I wish I could forget about time. It really gives me anxiety to know that many things I want to do are not doable in a lifetime.
