Don't change yourself
You're perfect just the way you are.
Don't hate yourself.
Love is your destiny.
The you you're craving resides
deep within the you you're despising.
Love that person
In the place you find them.
Change will come of acceptance
Of all the rough and broken places.
Don't run from the mirror image,
But run your fingers across the visage
Of that soul.
All the secrets lie buried
Well beneath that surface.
The fear you feel is
Fear of living.
Pour the pain and frustration
Like bathwater from the surface
And break the surface of your skin
With whispers of thanks
For where you've been.
Let your spirit out of hiding.
Let your wings dry and unfold.
The first flights may be short and choppy
As you learn to navigate
Beyond your self-imposed prison.
You can always go back, regroup and recover,
But once you feel the warmth of the lifting breeze
You'll never be content to linger
So long ever again.
Here's another piece of poetry from I-don't-know-where. I hope you enjoy.

I hope more poems issue forth from "I-don't-know-where." I enjoyed that one very much. (Note: I have been skipping poetry posts because I'm not into poetry, but I'm trying to reform.)
lol, I'm flattered you read mine! I am glad you enjoyed it. Is it really necessary to reform? 🤗 happy weekend.
