Mark the countdown
Check the list
The face, the race the way that she moves
Excitement for the prospective but
Unknown
Next to the boredom of safety and security
Swap for the boredom of the upgradeable
Enhancement?
Enchantment?
Box full of choke-on chocolates
Invited to a celebratory feast
Being all for the privilege of my belly
Of which I keep a close watch
And of this heart of mine
Of this dick of mine
Of this pinged and binged soul of mine
Separation and alienation
Deformation of a body of evidence
Substitution with a preferential specimen
Interlocutor
Defiler of lust, trust and a pertaining list of
Must
She knows
And she does too
And I just play the fool
Smile and wave
Curb feel and curl feel my goodbyes

The games we play with each other... weird dances that sometimes seem instinctual and uncontrollable, in spite of all of the modern day bells and whistles... As this poem reverberates in my mind I'm thinking of Perfect Circle's song Magdalena, where the man sings about the magnetic power of a stripper he can't tear his eyes from. Beautifully written, a lot of memorable lines in here. "box full of choke-on chocolates", "pinged and dinged soul of mine"...

Really well written. Following :)

Mer de Noms is a very good record. I appreciate the deep emotional states it, can when studied in approximation, induce. Hadn't heard of Magdalena for quite some time, enjoyed listening to it again!

Thank you for the comments, friend. One thing I can assure you is that we are the creators and facilitators of happenings.

...and definitely yes to "the creators and facilitators of happenings" :D I'm loving the discussions I'm having with other creatives on Steemit so far, it feels empowering to be part of this.

While I don't understand it all it's very intriguing. I'm only very new to poetry but stumbling upon poems like this has made me inspired to write my own very first poem! Have a look here if you like. 🤗🤗

As you, in your own work and words, attempt to describe the abstract through abstractions, so (the) I does. Thank you, friend.
