I love how much is said in the last line, the pervasive feeling of dread and how adult it feels to be trying to pretend all is fine.
micro-surrealist horror is just something I'm not seeing enough of these days, what a refreshing read, my friend.

Is that what you call this, thanks for the heads up. I like this story, It left me feeling like it was very Alice and Wonderland adventure but somewhat darker. Now I know it is called micro-surrealist horror. I am going to study up on this genre @carmalain7 Thanks for weighing in here your timing is impeccable.
