Welcome back to another entry in the Poetry Dice Challenge 3000. @robyneggs has handed off the contest to @rensoul17 for the time being, and I encourage you to check out the post and participate. This weeks theme is 'beginnings.' Without further ado, here is this weeks roll and my entry:

The tallest tree grows from a tiny seed,
blossoming forth and flowing endlessly.

Drawn to the Sun, climbing with the Earth's spin;
Power magnified again and again.

Resting in the dark while the roots take hold;
Digging to the core, sheltered from the cold.

Some branches seem alien in nature,
a risk of finding their own path, I'd wager.

Force against nature, standing tall and proud,
braving the wilds, no need to be allowed.

Reaching for the stars without leaving the ground,
living with no fear of being brought down.

Wow! I just came across this contest. This is such a great idea! I'm going to try and join :) What a lovely poem, too.. such profound words!

I hope you enjoy the contest, it's one of my favorites.

the overall conclusion I can make from the poetry is that our roots should be very strong

This poem is beautifully deep rooted! :)

Subtle. :)

Say it.....

SAY IT.....

You know you want to!!

Come on!!! Just say: 'subtly puny"

"Some branches seem alien in nature,
a risk of finding their own path, I'd wager."

This line was such a pleasure to read out in my head, most likely because of the last two words, I'd wager.

Very strong entry to the contest, I think I'll be seeing this one on the winners announcement.

Thank you for your words

Missed your comment earlier, thanks for the awesome feedback and we'll just have to see. There is always some stiff competition in the PDC3K.

Wow

I love this. Even more so the first line in the last stanza

Reaching for the stars without leaving the ground

The power of that imagery is powerful.

Steem on

It's important to always keep ourselves grounded.

Yeah

I find a kind of writing prompt in that, you know. Trying to find a balance between reaching for all that you can and still staying connected to your source.

Maybe I'll use that as the prompt my my contest next week

Blessings

good post friend I invite you to see my blog

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.

Exxelent 👍👍👍

Hey @clayboyn, u received 100% upvote from @gangas. Awesome post, meaningful poetry. Happy weekend.

good poetry @clayboyn
has profound meaning
I can see that our lives must be striving for us to be better and successful.
here is the word "alien" in which all the first humans are born earthly in a foreign state, but the time and experience we feel is making us become one with nature and other human beings.

Regards @mfaisalyusuf

Very nice job with this. Enjoyed the reading adventure.

Hello I am new here and I recently started writing and I think this is a brilliant. You can read some of my stuff at @osasuj.

I really loved this entry! As someone who takes part in this contest, I know how difficult it may be at first to incorporate the theme and all the prompts.

The consistency of the imagery is incredible.

Resting in the dark while the roots take hold;

Reaching for the stars without leaving the ground,

That's talent. I'm amazed at how you used the tree's imagery throughout the whole poem. And the "alien branches". That was clever to use 'alien' prompt that way. Tips hat off

Hi @clayboyn

I want to change the direction of my contest - #thegraycontest - towards poetry-based reviews.

I want to use this poem for the first review and the review I wrote for Resonance as a review guide. I wonder if you would grant me the permission to do so.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Blessings

I'm cool with it.
