In my garden, a buzz in my pocket
a text
from Mary Jane on the plane

"[ewe] [bug] me ..."

3 dots. Blank.
3 dots. Blank.
I wait.
3 dots ... blank.

I reply:

"[?] do [eye] [bug] you??"

Pause.
3 dots.

'u r not here i miss u michigan will be cold & alien without u"

I snap a California poppy hit send
and say
"this [flower] is magic Cali [sun] 2 keep [ewe] warm
sweet [bug]
[heart] [hearts] [kiss]"

Three dots...

"tray tables up xoxoxo"
