My first poem on Hive

Since it is my first day on Hive and I still have to figure a lot of things out, I am just sharing one of my poems with you . I wrote this one in 2015 and it has a lot to do with the strength of women.
So here goes

I may not be the prettiest one
Nor am I the best
I am not that young anymore
But I pulled through
when life put me to the test

Oh and I have lost
And sometimes I won
And then there were days
When I was always on the run

I have loved
So deeply
That my soul fell to tears
And I have got my heart broken
So badly
That it left me with fear

Still I am standing
With a glow in my smile
Sharing my story
And making it worth the trial

For I am a woman
and I have something to say
I matter
I am beautiful
I am worthy

And whatever will yet come my way

I am a woman
I am a proud and faithful woman
And I cherish this every day
Cause whatever they did to me
They couldn't take my smile
Nor my strength away
