A Poem for Our Fifth Anniversary

For My Wife On This, the Day of Our Anniversary

Not fruit to wine, but seed to growth
Each year‘s rings, our path denotes
Carressing leaf, and nestled root
Carved hearts, there‘s love afoot
In stroking branches, a flameless fire
Life spreads out, and we reach higher
To new heights, and many rings
And the love our fortune brings

We had a wonderful evening that day. Our friend gave us the glass art you see in the photo, we went out to dinner, and had a nice walk. Nothing pleases my heart more than spending time with her.

Many poems have been authored for @foxe over our years together. I enjoy writing them. Usually they are a spontaneous expression, but I wanted to write her something specifically for our fifth (wood) anniversary.
