Pokemon Go Ultimate Power-Leveling Tutorial

in #pokemon7 years ago (edited)

You want to be a Pokemon master. You want to take over every gym in town. You want all the beasts that are seemingly impossible to find. I know I do anyway. This is a task that takes very much of your time. It takes dedication, performing repetitive tasks daily, for hours on end. You need to do research and keep up on the latest news, events and updates. This is no easy accomplishment. If you’re not willing to put in persistent work and effort there is an easy alternative. Buy a botted account. It is that simple. People either play, or program a computer to do all the work necessary to make a powerful account. The accounts are then sold. They usually come with many powerful monsters and a high-level character. That takes money and where is the fun doing that? In this tutorial I will teach you everything I have learned about maximizing XP to level up quickly. The game is still evolving, the future has much in store. Keep in mind that to have a powerful pokemon army, you must first have a high-level character. The following information details the most efficient ways to gain experience and prevent wasting valuable resources. Some of the more experienced players will obviously already know much of this information, but it is combined in a way that takes you from complete noob to expert level. There are many ways to go about it. Take what works best for you. This is what worked well for my friends and myself.
To begin, apparently you must create an account. Pick a name you like, you’ll get one opportunity to change it if so desired. Pick a starter pokemon and you’re off. Keep walking off without choosing one, then Pikachu will become an available choice. Go spin Pokestops to receive items. Continue doing so, over and over. You will receive 250XP for each new stop. New stops have a white ring hovering over them. Aim for those. They reward only 50XP each time after the first. Playing in a large city will make this a cakewalk. Now choices must be made. Pick a few select pokemon that you will capture until a later time, which we will cover. Stick with this small group. These will essentially be the only pokemon you catch until a specified event that quadruples XP. You’ll want some that are abundant in your area, that are easy to catch with a Nice, Great, or Excellent Shot, or that have low candy requirements to evolve. If you are near the coast or a body of water Tentacool and Psyduck are good choices. I like to catch 1000s of Magikarp as well. Magikarp requires 400 candies to evolve into Gyarados, one of the best monsters in the game, and they never flee, unless they happen to be Ditto. Anywhere else and there’s Pidgey, Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Whismur. Those only require 12 candies to evolve. Pinap berries will be unlocked at level 21. Use them to double the candy received from catches. During any double candy events go all out and catch as many of these as possible. 6 candies will be given during an event then 6 more if Pinap berries are used, plus an extra 2 candies to transfer them to the Professor. That will be enough to do one evolution when the time comes by catching only one Pokemon. I like to go all out during the events because the payoff is handsome. I do make a few exceptions if I come across certain Pokemon, due to rarity, such as Dratini, Larvitar, Chansey, Unown, or any regionally locked monsters. More experience will be earned if you find them while a double XP event or Lucky Egg are going, but it is highly unlikely they appear. The reasoning for choosing these Pokemon is the 500XP awarded for any new pokemon you catch, evolve, or hatch from eggs. There is a way to multiply the XP gained during certain events and by using Lucky Eggs. More on that later. To recap, spin new Pokestops and catch these few select Pokemon. Rack up candies and level up as quickly as possible.
The item box may fill up deeming you unable to spin anymore stops. Use or throw away extra potions or Pokeballs that you won’t use right away. Upon reaching higher levels you will receive better quality items, feel free to toss weak ones in the pursuit of better ones, while always spinning Pokestops for 250XP. To accumulate Stardust, I go to my team’s gyms and feed Nanab and Razz berries instead of discarding them. Also, your pokemon box will fill up many times over, you’ll want to transfer them to the Professor to make more room. One more candy is given for each transfer, 2 if a double candy event is in session. You may be tempted to catch different monsters right away, but their strength is predetermined by your trainer level. Upon reaching level 30 you’ll be able to catch the highest level wild pokemon that the game allows. This will save stardust that you are acquiring to power up quality monsters. Focus on these simple tasks. Doing this alone a dedicated individual can reach level 20 in a day or so.
Log in every single day. 500XP is awarded for both the first Pokemon caught and the first Pokestop spun each day. 2000XP is awarded for completing a 7-day streak. By spinning the Pokeball first you can throw a curve ball. ABC. Always Be Curving. This increases the catch rate and rewards a bonus 10XP. Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws happen by timing the throw. Giving you 10, 50 and 100XP respectively. Each also increases the catch rate. Catching a Pokemon on the first throw awards another 50XP, so increasing the catch rate is important to gain this bonus consistently.
By now you have noticed that you have incubators and eggs. One has infinite uses. The rest are limited in their number of uses and are rare. I put only 10km eggs in my disposable incubators. The rest go into the infinite use one. Crack eggs as you walk and keep the incubator full. This will net some XP. 200XP for 2km eggs, 500XP for 5km eggs, and 1000XP for 10km eggs. You also should have another egg by now, The Lucky Egg. Lucky Eggs are awarded as a bonus to trainers for reaching levels 9, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40. This item will double XP for 30 minutes. Let’s hold those until a double XP event comes. This may be a couple months, so it’ll give you plenty of time to get a storehouse of candy. Reaching level 40 will take more than a couple months even for a gaming addict, let’s be patient.
You’ve also noticed gyms around town that have ongoing raids. Legendary raids are what I scope out. They require a group of up to 20 trainers to defeat and reward 10,000XP. This is a great way to acquire powerful monsters from level 5 on. All Legendary Pokemon are level 20 by default, unless weather boosted, then level 25. Spin a Pokestop in a gym every day to receive a free raid pass. Win the raid. As a low-level character you need to ride some coat tails here. Find a group that can defeat the boss and join them. All you need to do is survive until they win. If you fail just keep trying until the timer expires. There are Discord, Facebook, and Twitter groups you may find for your area that trainers use to communicate and meet up. You’ll get a chance to catch it once you win. These can be difficult to catch for the inexperienced. Watch some Youtube videos, like ProdigiesNation for masterful catching strategies. Also, as you go about, spot gyms that your team is defending. Hop in and if there is an open spot drop any pokemon in there. Legendary Pokemon are not eligible to be placed in gyms at the time of writing this guide, only to battle opposing teams. I hope this changes in the future. You can receive up to 50 Pokecoins a day by doing this. Do it. You can save them up and occasionally get gift box deals in the gift shop. If not, buy Lucky Eggs for 80 coins apiece until you reach a high enough level where you’ll need to buy other things, such as storage space. We will want an abundance of Lucky Eggs for the next double XP event. I would suggest aiming for level 30 before altering these strategies. All wild pokemon max out at level 30, 35 if weather boosted. Once you reach level 30 you can aim at building an army simultaneously with leveling up. You should have a great start already with all the Legendary Pokemon I hope have been acquired.
Niantic has seasonal and holiday type events. https://pokemongohub.net/ is a good place to look for the event dates and the rewards they deliver. It has much, much more. If you are a serious player, then check it out. Sometimes the events reward double XP, double stardust, double candy and occasionally special pokemon (like Santa or Witch Hat Pikachu) for the duration of the event. These are also good times to look in the shop for discounted gift boxes. STARDUST. Stardust is the most valuable thing in the game, in my opinion. Do not use it in the beginning. Just save it trust me. All this time you’ve been racking up candy. You have an abundance. A double XP event is around the corner. You’ll want pokemon to evolve with that candy. It’ll take a little math. Get enough pokemon in your inventory to use all the candy. www.pidgeycalc.com is a website that helps figure out how many of each Pokemon needed to use all the candy. The day of the event crack one of those Lucky Eggs! I like to kick it off with a Legendary raid for an easy 40,000XP. Then walk and find pokemon that are new to the Pokedex. Catch those for 2000XP instead of the usual 500. If none are in sight, then evolve Pokemon. There are many a guide on Pidgey Farming and Mass Evolution. That is one way. This is a hybrid method. Keep moving.
With some ingenuity you can time your incubators to hatch eggs during this period for more 4x XP. If you happen to have 9 incubators, which I do not suggest purchasing, put all 10km eggs in, then walk 5km. After that, put all 5km eggs in and walk 3km. Lastly, put 2km in the remaining incubators and walk 1.5 km or so before starting a Lucky Egg. You will get a nice streak of XP hatching them all while performing aforementioned tasks. 800XP for a 2km egg, 2000XP for a 5km egg, and 4000XP for the 10km egg. I believe it is random, but hatching eggs also rewards a decent amount of candy. Some Pokemon can only be acquired by hatching eggs, such as the babies. Burn up all that candy evolving. This should take several Lucky Eggs and as many hours if you’ve really been saving up for the event. Repeat the above steps until Lucky Eggs are exhausted or you yourself are exhausted. Take advantage of the event. Each new Pokestop will reward 1000XP as well. Even after all the Lucky Eggs are gone you’ll still get 500XP. Being in a large, heavily populated city has its rewards. Keep spinning stops and catch as many monsters as you can find.
Many people despise the spoofing players. Players that fake their GPS to teleport around the world. I should make another blog for all the reasons I condone this activity. I have played legitimately and had fun playing. I have also spoofed, and I absolutely loved playing from then on. I will not argue the values of doing this here. It is a powerful tool to use or ignore. It’s a free world, explore it! Larger cities will afford you opportunities that a hundred country towns combined would not. There are many guides already covering how to do this on different systems, versions, and phones. Check out FSUATL on Youtube. He has lots of information on the subject. He also does very well on reporting any news or updates, although he may be a little speculative at times, he is entertaining and has a wealth of great information. Some websites such as www.pokedex100.com or pokesniper.org give coordinates to an array of pokemon. Also, Unown J, UnownBot, TyranitarBot are on Twitter. There are many sites that also provide coordinates for raids. This comes in very handy for finding an actual group to take down Legendary beasts. Upon reaching level 30 I would change the strategy. This is the level where diminishing returns begin to take effect. You’ll have to do much more work to receive less of a gain. That is the cue to go locate and catch high IV monsters. Seeing as this is a leveling tutorial we won’t go into much depth here. That’s a write up for another day. Just realize even though the difficulty increases with each level that these are the tried and true methods. More may become available in the future but, these will always be at your disposal. No one will follow this information to the T nor do I have such expectations. The key is to implement them as frequently as possible while still enjoying the game. It will be much more fun to have a jaw-dropping box full of beasts though, that I can promise. Pokemon Go is here for our entertainment, not to turn us into mindless button clicking zombies. Good luck and mad skills.
