Hello. In this Pokemon TCG post I cover more card reveals. These ones are Ethan's Pinsir and Ethan's Sudowoodo from Japan's Hot Wind Arena or Heat Wave Arena set for Japan on March 14, 2025.
Who Is Ethan?
Ethan is a playable character from Pokemon Silver and Gold when you choose the main male character. He is also in a few other games such as Pokemon Masters.

Ethan's Sudowoodo

Ethan's Sudowoodo is a Basic Fighting Pokemon with 110 HP, Grass weakness and one retreat cost. The first attack of Impound costs one Fighting energy to do 20 damage plus making the opponent's Defending Pokemon not being able to retreat. I guess there are more retreat lock attackers being released as Snorlax with the Block ability is being rotated out.

Retreat lock attacks deal low damage and retreat locks the opponent. It buys you a turn for a larger knockout and/or for more setup.
The second attack of Attempt Mimicry is a coin flip attack. It requires two Colourless Energy. If you flip Heads you choose 1 of your opponent's Active Pokemon and choose 1 attack for Ethan's Sudowoodo to copy and its attack.
There are other attackers that can copy attacks. The worse one is Mime Jr with Clefable's Metronome not seeing much play and Mew ex being the best.

The copy attack from Ethan's Sudowoodo can be useful in rare situations. Clefable is an evolution Pokemon which takes time to setup, Mime Jr. is not good and Mew ex's attack requires three Colourless Energy. Ethan's Sudowoodo is a Basic Pokemon and can be powered up by Ethan's Ho-Oh ex. With this Sudowoodo you have to get lucky with the coin flip and copy a good attack. I think this card has too many drawbacks for it to be used in Ethan decks.
Ethan's Pinsir

Ethan's Pinsir is a 120 HP Basic Grass Pokemon. It has two retreat cost and Fire weakness. The first attack costs one Grass Energy to do 20 damage which is okay.
It is the second attack of One-Point Return that can be useful in certain situations. For 3 Colourless Energy the attack has 70 base damage. There is an additional effect where if any of your Ethan's Pokemon were Knocked Out by damage from an attack from your opponent's Pokemon during the opponent's last turn, the Ethan's Pinsir attack does 100 more damage (170 in total). Because of the Grass typing this attack can do 170 x2 = 340 damage. This 340 damage can one hit knockout Pokemon ex with Grass weakness like Charizard ex, N's Zoroark ex, Arven's Mabostiff ex, Mammoswine ex.

Ethan's Pinsir would be a tech option in Ethan's Pokemon decks. It would serve as a specific counter against Charizard ex and N's Zoroark ex decks. The hard point is getting 3 Colourless Energy onto Ethan's Pinsir. Ethan's Ho-Oh ex kind of helps.
