I used to sometimes get unluckier than I had to in the game of poker. And the thought that the site was rigged sometimes crossed my mind. Then I actually worked on some parts of my game that kind of helped this problem. So here are thoughts on that.
I don’t chase every single draw anymore. Especially not the bad end of a straight for example.
Hand protection. This is important. I have learnt to bet for protection when I likely have the best hand and there are many bad cards that can come on the next street.
Preflop discipline. I am learning to play sound preflop ranges. There is a reason for why good players recommend not to open too wide from early position. There are many players to act behind and the risk of being dominated when we open for example K9o from early position is just too big.
These are my honest tips for having less ”bad luck”. Then there is the kind of bad luck that you just have, so called set-ups. I will handle these in my next post. Because I feel that topic deserves its own space.
And the post after that will contain info on a challenge I will do next for my own satisfaction :)
