When Power Gets to Your Head....Police Commissioner Resigns after this Video Showing Her Behavior with Cops

in #police6 years ago (edited)

It always amazes me how a little power ( and a lot of it as well) can really go to a human's head and really turn them ego maniacs.

Or maybe just maybe..
these people were already ego maniacs to begin with ;).

Case and point..

College students were pulled over and getting their car towed because of Registration issues. Well, here comes Mommy who happens to hold a very lofty position in local gov't. She oversees 4,000 cops as a Commissioner.

But...

she acts like a twit who does not empathize with the cops who she should know have a tough job. After all ,she is in charge of 4,000 of them.

It's a little long video but I thought very interesting and worth watching at least the first 5 minutes or so to see this arrogant little woman.

That is really interesting. I appreciate how you do a really good job of showing both sides of the issue. For example your post yesterday about brutality vs. this post about someone in authority being abusive to cops. It is a tough job and there are some that do it wrong and some that do it right. We need to be supportive and understanding of how difficult of a job it can be, but also vigilant in protecting our rights. I have always said that I think we could all learn a lot by watching old episodes of Cops. Everything was tape so you knew it was all real. It became very apparent that many people do resist arrest and even though they had to take people down they were always pretty polite about it. I think both citizens and police officers could learn a lot from those reruns!

YEah, I agree with you and thanks for the kind observation :)

I think it came down to her demeanor and initial introduction. No human being likes to be talked down to. I don't care if you're a police officer or a day car worker or just citizen joe. People just don't. If she would have said something like "excuse me Officer I sincerely do not mean be intrusive but would it be possible that you could give me a run down what happened here as that is my daughter over there " Or something like that. I think these officers would have been more than happy to describe what had occurred if she has done that

For sure! I have had my share of people talk to me like that when I was working in retail. I will never forget an older lady who thought I should give a hoot who her husband was. I asked for her name for something and she said "my husband is xxxx" I just stood there like okay? It was pretty funny.

right.power really goes to the head when one possesses it.good thing she resigned.

marvellous, very interesting video for me. dabangg lady. Ego in people comes because of their profession. but they should also know, this Ego that can also be the reason for the destruction of their profession. beacause the ego destroys the intellect.

I hate Dan Ackroyd.

In January 1992 I was working as a security guard at Muhammed Ali's 50th birthday party. Yes, redundant, but not the story.

Early in the evening, I was sent outside to make sure a parking spot was available for Tom Bradley, LA's mayor at the time. Dan Ackroyd pulled up to the lot in a silver Land Rover, and I wouldn't let him enter. He literally asked, "Don't you know who I am?" incredulous. I replied, "Of course I do, but that means I know you aren't the mayor of Los Angeles." He stepped on it and almost ran over a co-worker and me. He glared at me for a few seconds before going inside. I promptly had his Range Rover towed, and Tom Bradley had no problem parking.

On the other hand, Muhammed Ali was a really nice guy. Already shaking quite a bit, and his wife did most of the talking. But there was an air of gentleness about him, belying his ability to knock someone the fuck out.

Gary Coleman was a rude fucking prick too.

That is really a bad wording when someone say "do you know who I am".i hate those people who violate rules.

first 5 minutes are really interesting, fuck off.
Thanks @robertandrew for sharing

that is worst use of power..... this is unexpected
