Jagody kamczackie i smak życia / Blue honeysuckle and the taste of life

Po raz pierwszy zetknąłem się z tym owocem rok temu. Rodzice nabyli działkę rekreacyjną, na której po poprzednich dzierżawcach pozostało m.in. kilka krzewów jagód kamczackich. To pierwszy gatunek owoców, który dojrzewał w tym ogródku.	I first encountered this fruit last year. My parents leased an allotment garden, and the things left by the previous tenants included e.g. a few blue honeysuckle bushes.
Pierwsze wrażenie to mieszanka rozpoznania znajomych cech i zaskoczenia nieznajomymi: niby jagody rosnące na krzewie, nawet kolor znajomy, jak u borówki, tylko ten kształt jakiś dziwny.	The first impression was a mix of recognition of familiar features and surprise with the unfamiliar ones: berries growing on a bush, even the colour was familiar, like that of the common bilberry, but I found the shape somewhat odd.
Ze smakiem było podobnie: wyraźna nuta borówkowa z domieszką kwaśnego (wyraźniejszą niż ta oczekiwana u borówki czarnej) i goryczy. Wraz z rodzicami podejrzewamy, że to ostatnie to rezultat suszy panującej zeszłą wiosną, bo w tym roku ta nuta była nieobecna.	It was similar with the taste: clear bilberry note with an admixture of sour (greater than expected of the common bilberry) and bitter. My parents and I suspect that the latter was a result of last year's spring drought, as this note was absent this spring.
Skosztowawszy jagód kamczackich w moim ówczesnym stanie umysłu stwierdziłem, że mają smak życia — kwaśne, gorzkie, a jednak jest w nich coś takiego, że chce się jeść więcej!	Having tasted the honeysuckle berries in my state of mind at the time, I thought that they taste like life—they are sour and bitter, but still have something that makes you want to eat more!
Wczoraj (8 czerwca 2021 r.) podrzuciłem mały słoiczek, odwiedzając Królestwo Bez Kresu. Przy odrobinie szczęścia może coś jeszcze dla Was zostało.	Yesterday (8^th June 2021), I left a small jar while visiting Królestwo Bez Kresu. If you are lucky, a few might have been left for you.
