RE: Steps Towards The United States of Africa

in #politics2 years ago (edited)

Thank you for reading and commenting on the article. Professor Patrick Loch Otieno (PLO) Lumumba, director of The Kenya School of Law and former Director of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, would certainly agree with you as shown in his video "Corruption Has Killed More People Than Civil Wars In Africa" at

However, Professor Lumumba is also quick to point out that the colonial powers punish integrity with assassinations and coups and reward corruption that facilitates their unrestricted exploitation to Africa's vast wealth. Thus, for example, when Patrice Lumumba (whom Malcolm X called "The greatest man to ever walk the African continent") was elected Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, he was quickly murdered reportedly on the orders of Eisenhower, the UN, and Belgium. We saw the same problem in the US with the murders of JFK, Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and RFK. This is a deeply systemic problem which requires a profound understanding of Western history. So, in our opinion, it is a mistake to assume that all Africa's problems are due only to corrupt African leaders. We must look MUCH deeper because the source of the problem is, in our opinion, not in Africa although the manifestation is seen there.
