This is an Op-Ed piece for a reason. We are generally not in favor of international solutions that tend to make problems even worse, while eroding the sovereignty of the areas being given "help." We always prefer local solutions. That said, there aren't a lot of great answers for the multitude of crises Africa faces. I suppose that each of these issues needs to be confronted one at a time, beginning with local agriculture to at least provide people with enough food (and water) to have the strength to tackle the rest of the problems. We don't live in Africa, though, so do any of you have some lasting solutions for what Africa faces - politically, economically and culturally?
