RE: Will Your View Evolve Also? Next Year, Marijuana Could Be Legalized in the United States

in #politics7 years ago

WHAT ACTUALLY MARIJUANA IS IF USED WELL.
This is just to inform us that when we intend to use its okay but it changes when we misuse then after abuse that may result in to addiction and later harming the body.
For the Benefit of the steemian community lets also read through this and try to understand so as to draw some meaning out of it.

  1. What Marijuana Actually Does To Your Brain and Body
Marijuana. Weed. Pot. Or whatever you name it is the most widespread illegal drug worldwide, obtaining support for legalization for medicinal as well as recreational purposes. Nevertheless, how does it actually work on us?
First of all, we need to note that many other researchers are needed in this area. Though marijuana found its place as a medicine as well as an inebriant, for centuries, we do not know much about its health effects on us, mostly because of the lack of the executed controlled studies on marijuana.
Marijuana is classified by the FDA as a Schedule I drug, meaning is categorized among most dangerous drugs like heroin, LSD and ecstasy (meth and cocaine are classified as Schedule II drugs which are less dangerous), and with “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.” Because of this, to do a clinical study with marijuana, you have to obtain authorization from the DEA and the FDA would need to approve the study. On the other hand, to get research-grade marijuana, you should involve National Institute on Drug Abuse, otherwise, due to its illegalization scientists working in colleges, hospitals, or other institutions that have been receiving federal funding are at risk to lose their funds in order to make this research.
Here’s what is known about marijuana effects on our health
  2. WHAT MARIJUANA DOES TO OUR BRAINS IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF HOURS
Cannabis contains minimum 60 types of cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are chemical substances that have an effect on receptors in our brain. THC, or Tetrahydrocannabinol, is responsible for the major effects from marihuana, and of course for the euphoric high.
Anandamide is produced in our brain and since is neurotransmitter it attaches to the THC receptors. Anandamide is called the “bliss molecule”. It regulates our memory, sleep, mood, and appetite.
Essentially, cannabinoids make our neurons to magnify our perception and thoughts. They keep us fixed on that magnified thought until another one came and takes its place). Therefore, when you are in such condition it is not recommended to study for an exam, drive or do activities that require coordination, such baseball or tennis. Cannabinoids have also an effect on the dopamine levels in our brain, frequently resulting in euphoria or relaxation.
  3. MARIJUANA ALSO CAN HARM OUR CAPABILITY MAKING NEW MEMORIES.
But marijuana’s effects are not the same for every individual. Some people will find it relaxing or enjoyable; while some will have anxiety symptoms even panic attacks.
  4. MARIJUANA DOESN’T HAVE A LONG-TERM EFFECT ON CONCENTRATION AND MEMORY
The effects of marijuana are commonly felt in a few minutes, culminating in 30 minutes, and fade away after 2-3 hours. This is when you use marijuana rarely, but what happens when you use it more regularly or occasionally but heavily?
There aren’t many rigorous studies on this.
According to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) there isn’t a strong connection between frequency of marijuana consumption and violence, a weak association to depression, and unclear relation to birth defects. However, heavy consumption of marijuana is connected to the increased possibility of respiratory difficulties, schizophrenia (even according to some studies, in these cases a genetic predisposition may be involved). The increased marihuana uses with teens, is linked to problems in adjusting to society…
  5. MARIJUANA IS LESS HARMFUL AND ADDICTIVE THEN OTHER DRUGS
Some people can get addicted to whatever gives them pleasure. While marijuana is an addictive substance, statistically only 9 percent of marijuana users get dependent on it.
  6. MARIJUANA IS MORE DANGEROUS FOR TEENS
The chances of marijuana addiction grow if you are daily user or a teen. National Institute on Drug Abuse reports that marijuana addiction increases for 17 percent in those users who started consuming it as teens and 25-50 percent of daily users.
  7. SMOKING IS RISKIER THAN OTHER METHODS OF USING
Marijuana is most often smoked, but there are other methods of using it such vaporization, used into a tea, or as a food ingredient. There are tinctures and oils made from the cannabis.
But among all methods of using marijuana, smoking has the most damaging side effects.
Marijuana smokers inhale it more deeply and keep the smoke longer, which leads to bigger exposure to tar. Marijuana smoke includes almost the same carcinogens and toxins found in the marihuana smoke which is directly inhaled. Studies have shown that long-term marijuana consumption leads to pulmonary ailments or lung cancer. Also, it is concluded that marihuana smokers are at bigger risk for these diseases than tobacco smokers.
