Since it seems like humanity isn't going to let go of their dependence upon government voluntarily, or any time soon, I've been brainstorming ways to make the slavery systems necessary to support civilized cultures voluntary and less coercive. One thought I had would be to eliminate ALL taxes other than sales tax, which would be increased to make up for the lost revenue due to repealing the unfair/coercive taxes. Taxes on car parts, tires, car sales, and gas could go to building roads. Taxes on kids clothing, toys, school supplies could go to paying for schools. Taxes on guns could support the military. Taxes on computers, cell phones, satellite tv could pay for communications infrastructure. Taxes on cosmetic/elective surgery and other unnecessary health products could support public health care systems. And so on.
This would make those that are benefiting from and participating in our corrupt economic system be the ones that pay for it and funnel the taxes that they pay to the services that they use. We live in a consumer world. Tax those that benefit from depleting our resources by making garbage, and tax the people that buy their crap. The more someone buys, sells, and uses the system, the more they should pay to support it. Period. There's absolutely no justification for income tax, property tax, inheritance tax, etc.
When mentioning this to someone and pointing out that the more local the system, the better, they asked, "But wouldn't this be tough on e-commerce?"
In my humble opinion, the internet should only be used for the free spreading of uncensored information/knowledge.
I'd be fine with internet commerce stagnating. It sucks to search for some information and have to read through 1000 pages of people trying to sell stuff before finding relevant info. The globalist consumer model is not sustainable and not going to work in the long term. If we had to start buying things locally again, hopefully things that are made locally, everyone's quality of life would improve. I say tax the shit out of internet sales. I'd rather go down the street to the store, say hi to someone that's contributing to my community, and support my community by keeping my money in it but I can't do that because all of the family owned brick and mortar businesses are getting ran over by internet retailers and giant corporations.
The problem with the internet now is that all of the people trying to do business over it are drowning out/burying the knowledge. The knowledge is there but you have to be smart and persistent to find it. If instead of pages of ads and propaganda, the good stuff came up at the top of search results, even lazy, stupid people could access it, hopefully making them less stupid and lazy over time.
With electronic currency and the sophisticated barcode and rfid tech that stores are using these days and computer controlled inventory, it should be relatively easy for the government to track sales tax and funnel it to the correct accounts. Even I could probably write that program. Once everyone is forced to use debit/credit cards and cash is a thing of the past, the masters would have complete control and no one using the system would be able to evade taxes or misappropriate them because the program would be in charge, eliminating human trickery from the equation. With advances in crypto currencies and platforms like ethereum and bitshares, the funds distribution could be automated, eliminating the need for government intervention.
While I'd love it if the whole government concept disappeared from humanity, there are just too many people out here that really need to be controlled. I'd be totally fine with a system like I mentioned above because I'd be on my farm, growing my own food, wearing second hand clothes, and bartering with my neighbors for things that I couldn't produce on my own. There would only be a few items that I'd need to use money for so the increased price because of the tax wouldn't bother me at all.
The reason that a system like I've mentioned above will never be implemented, even though it makes perfect sense, is that it would eventually push people away from being mindless consumers and more people would adopt sustainable lifestyles. It would also build community, reduce everyone's carbon footprint, conserve resources, reduce the population peacefully, and drastically reduce the size of government.......and the reptilians sure wouldn't want that. ;)
