RE: Can Trump Solve the Korea Problem?

in #politics7 years ago

The problem with North Korea goes well beyond the scope of any president. Considering Kim has literally starved his own citizens by pouring money into advancements in nuclear weapons, I refuse to believe that Kim is just going to all of a sudden stop and appease the US. Kim's father and grandfather have proven time and time again they don't want to play by Western rules.

Opening up the dialogue between both countries is a start nonetheless, but I think it's too early to say whether or not Kim is willing to meet all of the demands that Trump will have to form some kind of agreement besides the basics like; terms of engagement, missile defence systems on the border and sanctions.

Or maybe Kim is growing tired of seeing his country starve and suffocate due to some of the toughest sanctions that any country has ever had. Maybe Kim is trying to build up his treasure chest and stock up for a long Winter, before deciding to walk away from an agreement and continue on with his nuclear weapons adventure.
