James, welcome to Steemit. I'm glad you finally made it. On you point, it's not all the Dems fault. Both parties defy liberty. They want government to secure their own liberty while curtailing the liberties of everyone else. It can't happen that way. Some things are negotiable, and ought to be. The Bill of Rights, nor the Constitution, is a perfect document. If they were, there'd be no debate on most of the issues. The Constitution's one big flaw is that it doesn't provide for revision very adequately. The amendment process is slow and arduous while the parts that are intended to be static have almost lost any relevance. No one living today is a signatory to the document, which means there is no true governance by consent. In many ways, the two-party system itself is a huge contributor to the problem.
