We are not "finally" starting to wake up, and the situation in Brazil has nothing to do with this. We have been fighting a very long and tiring fight with this authoritative government and are pushing for a referendum, the rally was called for putting some pressure on the electoral commission to accelerate the process for the referendum to happen. We have not just recently realized that the current crisis is the government's fault, most of us have known it for a while now...
And that's just to clear up the matter on the things you said in this post, there's a lot more going on...
