Earlier today, a tweet was sent out from the McDonald's account. And naturally Twitter went crazy. The tweet in question (seen below) prompted a mix of backlash and support.
McDonald's has since responded, claiming their account was hacked and is now investigating the matter. What is interesting though was one particular reaction by Josh Barro, who is a Senior Editor at Business Insider as well as being an MSNBC contributor.
This tweet (since deleted) nicely encapsulates just why I can't stand "champagne liberals". In addition to that, it encapsulates just why Trump won. Had Democrats actually tried to appeal to working class Americans, they might have had a chance. Now I'm not sure just what happened with the McDonald's Twitter, but I highly doubt that this was seriously an employee or anyone affiliated with the corporation. But what really chaps my ass about Barro's response to this is not only a blatant dumping on conservatives, but it also dumping on poor people. The fact is that Democrats went virtually out of their way to shit on poor people, not just during the election but in everything since.
I'm not really sure what the McDonald's investigation will yield; however, they should really batten down the hatches going forward as well as doing what they can to repair any potential damage done.
I don't think it was a hack. This is a mistake that many community managers make when they use both personal and work social networks at the same time.
Yeah there really isn't a whole lot to go off of at the present moment.
lmao thats actually really funny
tbh tho america is a failure
