France Seeing Huge Protest Demonstrations

in #politicslast year (edited)

Protests have been sweeping France after a 17 year old was shot by police. Hundreds of people have been arrested so far after nights of protests in the region.

There has also been a nationwide ban on bus and tram services with all of the political turmoil going on.

Many people are furious about the killing and tens of thousands of police officers have been deployed to try and deal with the rising political situation in the region. The President Macron was also recently filmed at an Elton John concert as the country was seeing the political riots and chaos unfold.

It isn't any surprise that many people have slammed the leader for engaging in some entertainment as the situation has been ongoing.

So far there are said to be between 400 - 800+ people who have been arrested after the region has seen a number of young rioters causing destruction around the region.

What is it going to take to calm things down? Is it just a matter of arresting enough people?

The investigations are likely to also be going on for much longer after seeing as there has been a great deal of destruction to different property spaces in these several days of protests as well. It's also alleged that social media companies had been urged to remove sensitive content relating to the ongoing protests as well.

Buses have been burned, windows smashed, cars have been torched, among other chaos that has been unfolding. It also seems that the president has pointed the finger at parents saying it is their responsibility to keep youth at home so that they aren't out on the streets taking part in the protesting.
