What will DOGE cut when it finally seeks to work on the task of slashing excess regulations or spending around the government? What sort of changes will we see for federal agencies and excess regulations? Hundreds of billions if not more could be cut overall and it's likely to shock many people when things start to drastically change if they do as far as funding goes.
Cutting back on spending shouldn't be shocking, after all the government has been overspending for many years and build itself trillions in debt that it seemingly was never going to address in a meaningful way. Is this addressing it in a meaningful way? How much will the cutbacks make a dent overall to that debt and will they continue or grow in the next several years? It might not come without its challenges though with a lawsuit being filed over the legality of the changes to come.
will they be able to cut anything at all? and if they do make those cuts and the spending is reversed in 4+ years with even more added on then what good did it achieve in the long run? They shouldn't have a difficult time looking for waste to trim.

Much less than people think. This is mostly theater.

DOGE turns out not to actually be what it was claimed, but instead simply renaming the federal agency that regulates spending on IT (I am told), which apparently has oversight of the new Stargate $500B project, the most epic grift in US federal history.
Thanks!
