The conservative movement has always been problematic for the GOP. The problem is that the underlying ideology of the conservatism was formulated by the Conservative Party of Great Britain. The Conservative Party of Great Britain was actually designed to conserve the social structure of the monarchy.

What I have seen happen throughout my lifetime is that the Conservative Party consistently undermines the conversation about liberty.
