The International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC) is the largest global network of NGOs specialized in issues related to the use and production of controlled drugs. The Consortium works to foster objective and open debate on the effectiveness, direction and content of drug policies at the national, regional and international levels, and supports evidence-based policies that effectively reduce drug-related harm. The IDPC network produces regular reports, disseminates reports from its member organizations on specific drug-related issues, and provides advisory services to policymakers and officials around the world. IDPC members have extensive experience in drug policy analysis and have contributed to national and international policy debates.

The IDPC is made up of 173 NGOs and professional networks from around the world that focus their interests and areas of expertise on drug policy. The member organisations work together to implement the Consortium's annual work plan and collaborate in disseminating our ideas and publications. We have made a common front to facilitate an open debate on drug policy issues and to promote a more humane and effective policy, both nationally and internationally. Our advocacy positions are based on five general principles. The network is managed by an executive group of representatives from ten regions and has a secretariat based in Release, a UK non-profit organisation working on drugs and legal advice.

The IDPC network is the tool with which civil society will have a real impact in reforming the international drug control model by 2019.
