For documentation purposes in case I'm right.
So here's what's gonna happen:
- Monday G is gonna nominate himself for Speaker, promoting Horsman to Premier in his absence. Giving the appearance of stepping down for the good of the people. And maybe it's even true.
- The subsequent vote will still get defeated, so G is now "stuck" in this position unless there is another election. But they knew this would happen already. Maybe even planning it as a campaign gimmick? Who knows... But they know they're done. And they'd rather take their chances with another election than give it to Higgs easily.
- Now in comes Higgs shot at the throne. There will be much bloistering and peacocking, he won't be able to help himself. His arrogance will do him in because the purple suddenly won't give it to him. Nor should they. They'll be salivating at the chance to get more seats if there's a snap election. And they will. They know it.
- The Greens won't support the blue for the exact same reasons, except they know they'll take from the Blue through the red only in a small handful, if any, ridings, as well as from the red directly, depending on where it is. Trouble for them is they don't have candidates in every riding, purples do. And I don't know if they'd be allowed to add any. Purples have a better shot at gaining from the blue in a few extra ridings than the greens do from the reds.
- Neither green nor purple has any real incentive to support this blue puppet show, red and blue will make sure of it in their shared lust for power and relevance. Blue will fail spectacularly at its attempt.
- New election. Sometime in November. G, as Leader, could resign the speaker seat without a problem to run again for Premier. It will happen after the US mid-terms where I predict the reds (R) to actually gain power there. Yeah, that's what I said. There will be no blue wave whatsoever. And that, thanks to FB blurring the lines here, will lend momentum to a desire for purple over blue, misinformed or not, and purple will get more than expected. Just like last time. Greens will have already gotten more in the eyes of the media. And they will get more. Because they are disciplined in a respectful way. No attention will be paid to purple until election night. It will be a surprise again, just like last time. Except this time, their candidates are ecstatic, and that catches. Same for Greens.
- Election night results: Red 11 Blue 12 Green 14 Purple 12 Major shift in power, yet right back to square one in terms of "numbers" for minority rule. Premier David Coon. Green Party.
- Greens and Purples form a coalition government. It's the only option that can work the way our system is set up now.
- Halle-fuckin-luyah. That's what I call a win. For all of us.
It's the most beautiful political flower I've ever seen.
That's the extreme end of the prediction. However, I do believe that it will be the direction, I really do. Neither the blues or the reds want a new election, they can't afford it literally or figuratively. And they both know it. They each will lose seats if there's a new election soon. Yet neither is capable of accepting it. So they fight. Boring..........
Higgs might also get the vote for Premier. And there could be some things I just don't understand well enough to comment. Many things I imagine. Regardless, this is my prediction. And it's OK with me if I'm wrong. LOL I enjoyed imagining it as an outcome. It's a beautiful thing.
