RE: Is Voting Actually Violent?

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

By voting you force (or attempt to force) your opinion on others. The only case when voting could be justified is if there is a party that will simply vote no on all topics. The only goal of that party would be to bring the system to the fall.

Sort:

we voted to do away with red light cameras in my county. and we won! i think voting works, for anarchists, when we vote to minimize the state and its grip.

I do agree that voting is legitimate if and only if it is to reduce the impact of the state. But in some cases that may not be so clear. There are cases where in order to get a better outcome several state measures ought to be removed at once, but removing only some will lead to even worse results.

It comes down to the fact that we as individuals have no clue how things should really be organised, so in no way should we try to force our ideas on others. We fail already enough trying to sort out our own lives.
