China's Ambassador to to Israel, Du Wei, was found dead in his home on the 17th. The exact cause of death has not been identified, and Israeli police are conducting investigations.
Times of Israel quoted Du Wei's aide found him who died while lying in bed, and once said that the heart attack seems to be the cause. It was also known that he had no trace of trauma.
Ambassador Du Wei, a career diplomat, served as Israeli ambassador on February 15 this year, shortly before in Ukraine. Ambassador Du Wei made criticism in the name of the embassy two days after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Israel on the 13th of this month and condemned the passive disclosure of information related to China's new Covid 19 and investment in Israel.
“China-Israel cooperation is win-win in nature, and the projects are market activities based on supply and demand. In the hi-tech area, our cooperation opened the largest market in the world to Israel’s innovation achievement, and in the infrastructure fields, Chinese companies bring cost-effective labors that are much needed by Israel’s construction endeavour and provide a large number of job opportunities,” he wrote. “Above is the response of the Embassy towards Mr Pompeo’s comments on China. We trust that the Jewish friends are not only able to defeat the coronavirus but also the ‘political virus’ and choose the course of action that best serves their interests.”
