Division is general is a nonsensical notion when you are talking about a country or on a smaller level, a state. However America is the epitome of division! I personally feel that Americans are more members of their individual states than they are a collective whole. For some reason the majority of Americans I meet during my travels always identify with their state before their country. This has happened all over the world, from Brazil to Prague, Cambodia to shanghai. When I ask a fellow traveler where they are from, they respond by telling me their state first.
Whether I am reading too much into this is up for argument, but I feel Americans are already extremely divided.
Whether it’s on political issues, state borders, gender inequalities, police profiling and the list goes on. The division is omnipresent
