Why do people believe that politicians and people in the media are ethical and trustworthy people? On regular basis, we receive reports on scandal after scandal. Most politicians have terrible track records and seem to just do whatever they can to get elected. This is anything new, politicians have been known to do illegal activities for centuries. Sometimes it takes decades for old government mischief to come to light in the media. That is because the media is controlled and keep most people in the dark of what actually happens.
Mafia
It is basically organized crime with no one to hold them accountable for their actions. It's scary to think that we let these corrupt politicians control every aspect of our lives. Through years of education and television brainwashing, we've been taught that our elected officials know what's best. We gave way too much power to the politicians and they love to sell it to the corporations. The more you let your government control and regulate the more money they will extract from the corporations.

In current events, the best example of the corruption is Hillary Clinton's campaign. So much has come out about vote counts being rigged, the email scandal, and her bad judgements as Secretary of State. Her husband, Bill Clinton, is not innocent either. Forget about Monica Lewinsky. The Clintons have been criminals since Arkansas. Smuggling hundreds of millions of dollars of cocaine into Mena Airport and using a government loan program to launder the money. None of this information has come out from the media, but through people who were involved and who had worked for the Clintons. Documentaries have been made about the Clinton family secret lives. The media, including celebrities and politicians, are backing Hillary's campaign. She is being protected instead of being prosecuted for crimes she has committed.
I'll fix all your problems!
Politicians are the ones who create the problems, yet we still elect them. All of the programs and fixes governments propose always cause more harm than good. We elect these politicians to fix the problems they created in the first place. Political campaigns are funded by corporations so politicians will pass laws that benefit their business. All of these regulations are written by the corporations and are not actually meant to benefit the average person. So how can we keep going along electing these corporate puppets?
What to do?
We know the politicians are corrupt and do bad things, but what are we supposed to do? Well, probably nothing, since most people are too stuck in their own lives. Everyone is in debt, trying to pay their bills, broke, and just unhappy. No one considers that their lives would be better without government involvement. People may come together one day in protest and that day may be sooner than we think.
Agreed, we elect them. I think the 'main' problem is that most people are ignorant. They watch TV, think that journalists are objective, have no clue about censorship, histroy, human nature etc.. So the majority goes for the free lunch. This is vote on the person promoted by the media and promising to help them (improve their financial situation). I guess I have to watch Idiocracy again :-)
Grow up. Face the problems in or own lives.
Politicians don't really create problems in that sense.
There are problems in reality that we ourselves are to "lazy" or we feel incapabel to take them on.
(because we are told "we're only human" and we need the'"gods" to solve our problems.)
The politicians say if you vote for me I will solve these problems (as if they have the power that the ordinary people don't have) They profit, they take money and solve the problem half or not. And if there is any problem solving taking place the people DO it. If we maybe took more responsibility for our own lives not falling back on a daddy or mommy we could fix or problems much better.
We think we get a good deal, that the work we need to do for paying taxes to solve the problem is less then the amount of work we need to do for directly solving the problem.
In other words we think the price for the service is lower than the price would be if we solved those problems ourselves by directly paying a person who did the service. It's there that we miscalulate I believe, but it's only my opinion.
