TIL that the CIA can kill you while you drive your car. And everything being miles away from you and through an Internet connection.

A journalist from WIRED made a video on the subject. Although the video is already a few years old, it has come out again thanks to the CIA documents recently dumped by Wikileaks. It was revealed that the CIA has been investigating ways to manipulate the control systems of modern vehicles.

The hackers who demonstrated how it is possible are Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek, the two are security researchers at UBER.

And here is the video where they show the whole procedure and explain how they do it.

Every good idea or progress can be misused. This is scary. Thx for posting.

Every good idea or progress ....

Is sadly always misused as you say. Thanks for ur coment :)

WOW

Crazy world we are living now @mammasitta.

Yes indeed! I am so dizzy Juan! All daily news and information is so overwhelming . Sometimes I wish to turn back time when I had my first HUUUGE Motorola phone and so proud of it.

This is truly horrifying!

Indeed! And is just one of the things they can do :(

Right! And even more horrifying is that, in fact, anyone (with the right skill) can do it.

Yes! It is also another horrible true. As far as I can understand you only need to know the commands, codes of the car and connect to a central base.... no so many skills need it :(

What's next? Lasers from kiddie toys?

Thanks for the comment @smooth. I got a bit nervous when I saw this and was wondering "What have I done wrong now?" ;)
