Splinterlands a Hive based blockchain card game, is an interesting concept, one of which captures the Zeitgeist of the rise in popularity of digital trading card games, while most would be familiar with titles such as Hearthstone and others, Splinterlands, offers a unique perspective in that it allows individuals to purchase their cards, rent their cards, and own them, in a similar style to that which one would own a commodity.

Recent economic situations I have found myself in have unfortunately resulted in me having to take welfare payments and sell, all of my mainline cryptocurrency (I only have a few failed projects and meme coins left, World Power Production, Nexus Earth & Wife Doge, I also have some Monero) There has often been some misconception that I have millions of dollars, well, for good or bad, I suppose the simple answer is, I talked myself up a bit, as you do.
That aside I had the concept, that through playing the game, I may be able to generate dark energy crystals, know as DEC and trade them to Bitcoin, and subsequently into Fiat to cover my daily expenses, and perhaps if I could scale this, supplement my welfare payments, or, perhaps no longer require them all together, and thus press on with my ambitions of first free Starlink for Castlereagh (Paid by me, that’s why it would be free) and then of course, my lofty ambitions of the Pluto Project (No idea how I am figuring that out)

Now I had very briefly played the card game in the past, however, not to any great extent, and I must admit, at a glance, I do find the game rather confusing, but personally, I have always found a lot of traditional card games confusing, simply because I don’t have the greatest short term memory anyway on the best of days (misspent youth shall we say) but, to that end, I played the game, now perhaps it has changed, or perhaps I have mis-remembered, but I do recall or at least it would seem that when you won matches in the past you generated DEC, it was only up until today, that I stopped, to map my process and very quickly realized I was generating glint.
In trying to understand, by what means I would achieve this goal, some quick search engine queries lead me to understand that the only present way, to generate “income” from Splinterlands, would be, to generate what they call Soulbound Cards, and apparently if you burn them, you can then transfer it to Hive or Ethereum and then of course the process would be the same as anything else in Crypto, trade to KYC exchange, and then sell to fiat, and transfer, sadly, upon conducting this impromptu experiment off a business venture of sorts, the following was concluded…
The specifics of that whole mechanism, I will default to others to discuss, because frankly, it seemed so complicated, even my eyes rolled at the complicated text wall (and that’s saying something coming from me) however, while the venture itself, would appear as a failed undertaking, I can confirm, it was an educational exercise, so keep in mind, the following.
Learning Outcomes:
A. Can’t bootstrap personal economy from Splinterlands
B. Probably read things and watch tutorials before you waste 3 days
C. When you have the concept, arrive, follow through, with what you want to do, don’t assume things are the same, what happens when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me
D. Had I but, followed it like a process, instead of running bull a gate, assuming, you were generating DEC when in fact I was generating glint (whatever that is) and followed through with what I wanted to do - I would have very quickly, in the whole but what, 5 minutes it took me to figure that out by trying to map it, discovered, that it wouldn’t of worked, and subsequently moved on to other options
